On August 4th 2010, the Palestinian Conference on the Modern Trends in Mathematics and Physics was successfully concluded and resulted in a number of recommendations and suggestions. The participants from Palestine as well as from Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Brazil and India concluded the event with a number of recommendations that they presented to the audience.
.
The first recommendation is to support the establishment of the Nanotechnology and Material Science Research Excellence Center. Second, to support the PhD in Physics program at An-Najah, in order to motivate and reinforce cooperation and academic exchange between Palestinian and international universities, to form an international consultative committee that consist of researchers who had participated in the conference, to support the establishment of the Applied Scientific Research Fund in the Palestinian Territories, encourage scientific research through academic exchange of researchers between local and international universities, to establish partnerships between Palestinian and international universities in the fields of physics, mathematics and science in general, establishing a relationship network to facilitate communication between researchers inside and outside Palestine in addition to other suggestions.

The conference lasted for three days in which the participants discussed several issues related to physics and mathematics such as particles, applied physics, laser applications, polarization, astronomy, light, magnetism, dimensions, galaxies, stars, astrophysics, infrared, states of matter, nano-technology and its applications, mathematical equations and their use in life as well as other topics.

A number of meetings have been organized between the participants in which they discussed joint cooperation and scientific research. They also agreed on supporting collaboration and exchange of knowledge in the field of physics and mathematics as well as supporting new PhD programs in Physics at An-Najah.

Prof. Sami Al-Jaber, Chair of the conference pointed out that the event was a success and had achieved its objectives. He added that the conference was rich in the quality and quantity of its topics as well as the different points of view that were discussed between the participants which enriched the conference further. He also said that having such conference organized at the University highlights An-Najah's concern with supporting scientific research and academic excellence. It is important to bring together international and local researchers to discuss different topics in science so as to reinforce both sides' experience and knowledge.

The internationals, on their part, expressed their admiration by the University's advancement and the many facilities that have been introduced to the students which would contribute to the development of the academic study in Palestine.
