On February 17^th, Dr. Suliaman Khalil, Dean of the Faculty of Science at An-Najah, received a group of researchers from the United States, Italy and Spain. The delegation included Professor Giovanni Martinelli and Professor Franco Nigro from the University of Bari in Italy, Professor Luis Rallo from the University of Cordoba in Spain and Professor Lewis Ferguson from the University of California in the United States.

Attendees also included Dr. Ra’ed Al-Koni and Dr. Sabri Naser from the Department of Biology and Biotechnology at An-Najah, Dr. Hajjaj Hijjeh from Palestine Technical University, and Dr. Samer Jarrar from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari.

In the meeting, Dr. Khalil gave a summary about An-Najah and the achievements it made over the years, be it in the field of academic study or with respect to scientific research. He also indicated the University’s willingness to reinforce its relationships and cooperation ties with different universities around the world in the abovementioned fields.

The delegation visited the different laboratories and facilities that the Faculty of Science at An-Najah has. They were also introduced to the various modern and advanced facilities and equipments that the Faculty contains which help in developing scientific research and study.

The international researchers then visited the Scientific Centers’ building where they met with Dr. Jalal Dabbeek, Coordinator of the Scientific Centers and Director of the Earth Sciences and Seismic Engineering Center at An-Najah, as well as Professor Marwan Haddad, Director of the Water and Environmental Studies Institute (WESI), who familiarized the delegation with the scale of research and studies conducted in Palestine.

At the end of their visit, the guests expressed their admiration by the advanced level that the University has reached and indicated their interest to cooperate and communicate with An-Najah in the field of scientific research.
