An-Najah's Physics ‎Department recently concluded the activities of the 4th Winter School of ‎High Energy Physics in Palestine (WISHEPP IV) which was over a week and included scientific and entertaining activities on physics targeting An-Najah and high school students.


The closing ceremony was attended by Prof. Maher Natsheh, University President; Dr. Maen Ishtaiwi, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences; Prof. Achille Stocchi, Head of LAL and Co-Chair of ‎WISHEPP; Dr. Ahmed Bassalat, Chair of WISHEPP; Dr. Hadil Abualrob, Head of the Physics Department and Dr. Martin Gastal, Representatives of CERN as well as participating international researchers, physics students, members of Student Association for Physics and Astronomy (SAPA) and An-Najah staff.

 

Prof. Natsheh met with the international researchers and appreciated the time and effort they put into this event thanking them for taking the Winter School to great heights of success. 

One of the greatest achievements of the fourth edition of WISHEPP was the opening of the Center of Excellence in High Energy Physics, the first of its kind in Palestine.

Clearly impressed by An-Najah University infrastructure as well as its outstanding staff and students, Prof. Stocchi gave a closing presentation summarizing the steps of planning the 4th Winter School and its activities.

On this occasion, Dr. Bassalat announced that the 4th Winter School is offering 12 E+ scholarships for physics, engineering, mathematics and chemistry students for bachelor and master levels.
