Students Shayma’ Hussein and Manar Amer from the Physics Department at An-Najah have recently completed two research scholarships at LAL labs at the University of Paris-Sud 11 in France.


During the three month scholarships, the students participated in conducting two research papers with regard to LHCb experiment in CERN and VIRGO experiment.

Dr. Ahmed Bassalat, staff member at the Physics Department mentioned that both students will complete the research papers in few months and will enroll in the MSc physics programme at the University of Paris-Sud.
It is worth mention that both students are research and teaching assistants at An-Najah’s Physics Department.

The scholarships were offered by the First Winter School of High Energy Physics in Palestine (WISHEPP).
WISHEPP was established by the Physics Department at An-Najah in cooperation with Laboratoire de l l’Accélérateur (LAL) Linéaire at Paris-Sud on November, 2016, and this school will be held annually so, the next one will be on November 2017.
