Head of the Department

The Department of Chemistry and Biology is one of the principal academic departments within the College of Science. It encompasses an integrated system of academic programs in chemistry and biology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department aims to prepare qualified scientific professionals equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as research skills, enabling them to meet the needs of the education, scientific research, industrial, healthcare, and agricultural sectors. This mission aligns with the requirements of sustainable development and keeps pace with modern scientific and technological advancements.

During the current year (2026), the Departments of Chemistry and Biology were merged into a single academic department that now encompasses all academic programs previously offered by both departments. This integration builds upon the rich academic legacy of the two departments, which were established alongside the founding of the university in 1977.
