It is a chromatographic technique that can
separate a mixture of compounds and is used
in biochemistry and analytical chemistry to
identify, quantify and purify the individual
components of the mixture.
AAS enables simple measurement of elements
in a wide range of samples. The flame
atomizer is ideal for the measurement of
high concentration samples, whilst the
furnace atomizer achieves sub ppb detection.
A gas chromatograph (GC) is an analytical
instrument that measures the content of various
organic volatile components in a sample.
FTIR spectra reveal the composition of solids,
liquids, and gases. The most common use is in
the identification of unknown materials and
confirmation of production materials (incoming
or outgoing). The information content is very
specific in most cases, permitting fine
discrimination between like materials.
